It’s spring, almost summer, and that means that farm markets are coming back in area communities. From rhubarb, asparagus and microgreens, to farm-fresh eggs, pasture-raised meats, and maple syrup, to seedlings for your garden and all manner of baked goods, there’s plenty of goodness to be had. Markets within 20 miles of Amherst include:

Additionally, There are dozens of small farms in the area creating wonderful food that don’t necessarily sell at farmers’ markets. Each month we’ll feature a few here. Buying locally grown food keeps your dollar in the community, supports small farms, and ensures some pretty good eating!
Featured Farms of the Month:
These farms all offer Customer Supported Agriculture (or CSA) subscriptions, that offer — for a set price — an equal share in the bounty of the farm. It’s an easy and equitable way to eat fresh, delicious, locally grown food all season long. Many offer extra options, such as an egg share, a baked goods share, etc.
