Northwind Renewal Energy Cooperative moves to Amherst Business Park.

North Wind Renewable Energy Cooperative, central Wisconsin’s leading solar provider, has announced that the company will move its headquarters from its current location in Stevens Point, to a new location at 578 Allen St in the Village of Amherst Business Park. The new headquarters will provide the necessary space to support the company’s sustained growth.

“We are very excited for our new headquarters!” Josh Stolzenburg, CEO of North Wind Renewable Energy Cooperative said. “The new building gives us room to accommodate our rapidly growing business, and provide a showcase for the latest in the solar technology. Amherst is a great community and we’re excited to be a part of it”

North Wind’s new headquarters will feature 44 kW of solar power, including a seasonally adjustable ground mounted array and roof mounted array. Additionally, the new headquarters will offer (8) Level 2 electric vehicle charging stations. The solar arrays are expected to offset 100 percent of the building’s electric consumption. The new headquarters will also utilize the latest in energy storage technology, including Tesla Powerwall, and feature a showroom where the public can see the technology in operation and how it will work at their home or business.

North Wind and partners from the Village of Amherst, the International Bank of Amherst, along with friends and family celebrated an informal ground breaking event on August 30. Blenker Construction Inc. will lead the construction of the new facility with estimated completion in January of 2019.

“We are thankful to all of our partners in this process and are looking forward to serving our growing customer base in Central Wisconsin from our new headquarters” said Board President Rob Peck.
