Webster’s defines beauty as “the quality or aggregate of qualities in a person or thing that gives pleasure to the senses or pleasurably exalts the mind or spirit.” At Angelina’s Salon, that beauty might manifest as a great haircut, a perm, a color, a new “do,” or even fresh flowers.

Amherst-area residents of all ages have experienced beauty (and handsomeness) from the styling talents of Angelina Peterson for many years. Some of her clients have been with her since she began her career in 1998.

In 2009, she purchased the former Family Hair Care business at 177 N. Main Street.

She told the Community Spirit, “I was ecstatic to have this opportunity to continue to serve the community as a business owner. In the past, I have had many employees, some who have left to start their own successful businesses. I currently work alone, with Holly Estrada of Root 26 renting space from me.”

Customers like her quaint, cozy atmosphere, the fresh flowers she sells, and her bright spirit. She offers several lines of professional products including Amika, Paul Mitchell, Awapuhi, and Onesta Naturals. Both Military and Senior customers enjoy a 10% discount.

On Wednesdays, she offers Men’s Night, where guys are free to walk in without an appointment and get a haircut at a discount. Before the current situation with COVID-19, Men’s Night was usually quite the social event. Now, she is back with Men’s Night but with safety protocols to protect everyone while still having a good time and great haircut.

If our current situation has you feeling less than your beautiful (or handsome) self, let Angelina help bring back your spark.

No need to worry because, as she says, “I am not happy until you are happy. That has always been the driving force behind what I do.”

To make an appointment, call 715- 824-3711, or find her on FaceBook and schedule there. She’s also online at www.angelinassalon.com.
